Title: New Scents Added Weekly
We have been adding new scents weekly. We just recently added a new scent:
Fresh Outdoors: A Green fragrance for those that love the outdoors! You'll smell the air, the grass, the dirt and all of nature's beauty. Clean and woody with a blend of cedar & pine hint of spice with an accent of light floral. Very clean & fresh smelling!
We are also looking at adding some new Florals & Fruit Scents! Keep checking back!

We will be closed from July 25th-August 1st for our vacation. We will be shipping items up until that time. But please order so that you allow ample time for us to process the order and get it out to you.

Title: New Scents
We have just added 3 New Scents~Campfire-bit of pine & smoky campfire & Grammy's Zucchini Bread-yummy warm zucchini bread with spices. And also Orange Clove has been requested many times, so we finally have added that scent also.
We will also be soon adding a new scent for our bath line called Caribbean which is like tropical coconut.

The store credits have been added to all accounts that qualify and these credits will expire on 4/18/09. Log into your account to see amount. The amount will show up at the end of the checkout. You will see the discount before you will need to submit payment.

Title: Customer Appreciation Dividend Program
We have decided to start a new program to give back to our customers. It is called “Customer Appreciation Program”.
We have all been facing rising costs, higher fuel prices & a sluggish economy. We decided to help our loyal friends through this challenging time.
Our customers are out most valuable asset and so we are investing back into you since you have invested in us!~ You will receive a dividend each quarter based on what you have spent. We will email you to let you know what your credit is and will put the credit on your account. So the next time you order it will be deducted.
This is how the program will work :
· Earn a credit back from all your purchases toward future orders at www.backroad-hobbies.com. Taxes and shipping do not count toward your purchase totals eligible for a dividend credit.
· The dividend program is only available to our best accounts who have met the purchase/profitability requirements and kept their accounts in good standing. The credit is calculated based on the sales and profitability of your purchases during the past 12 months.
· Use your credit toward any purchase including sale products, clearance items, special offers, etc. Coupons cannot be used toward shipping or tax amounts.
· Purchases made using your credit count toward your next dividend coupon.
· There is no limit as to how much you can earn! Large orders and small orders all count toward your accumulated total.
· Customer credits are emailed to you once you have accumulated $5.00 or more in rewards from your qualifying purchases.
· Dividend earnings of less than $5.00 will not qualify.
· Backroad Hobbies is not liable for unclaimed or expired customer credits.
· Customer credits can only be used on orders that have not been shipped and may not be redeemed for cash or account credit.
Dividends for 1/12/09 will expire on 1/31/09.
The way to have your dividends show up. If you place an order or when placing an order for the first time and select New Customer. Fill out the required information and the next time you place an order just go to Return Customer Log In and use your Username & Password and your Store Credit will show up when checking out. You can still add to your cart,etc before actually completing the sale.

Title: Deadline for shipping in July
The last day we will be shipping orders in July will be July 23rd. There may be a few exceptions but that is what we are looking at now. And then we will be closed from July 26-August 2nd.

Title: New Soy Blended Wax!~
We are so excited to share with all of you our new soy blended wax!~ We have been testing for the last 3 months and finally have found a wax that throws much better than our old wax and the wick does not mushroom like in the past.
We have been listening to our customers and most of you were fine with our old wax but there were some that were seeing more sooting and didn't like the mushroom on the wick.
I was test burning a Vanilla Bliss last evening and I was sitting out on our deck and could smell the scent coming through the screen door!~
This is still a soy blended wax but it is our own mix. We have found a great combination that we know you are going to love!~
The colors are still vibrant and the candles look the same but the scent throw is so much better!~ I know when my husband says "You need to blow out that candle" that I it has a great throw!

Title: Displaying Candle Tips
Here are a couple of tips for displaying your candles:
1. If doing summer shows, try to keep your candles out of the sun. Which is hard sometimes depending on where you are setup. Even using wooden crates to create some shade might help.
2. When displaying your candles at show, only put out a few selected items at a time in case, some do start to melt.
3. If displaying candles in a store, do not sit at a display window to prevent fading.
4. Even flourescent lights can fade candles. We do use a UV product in our candles to help prevent fading.
5. If you have problems with fading candles or know you will be sitting in the sun at a show, you may want to select our uncolored candles option.

Title: Vacation
Just to update and let everyone know. Backroad Hobbies will be closed July 26th-August 2nd.
And we will also be closed in August for 2 weeks. Our daughter is due to have a baby and they live in Wyoming. This is our first grandchild so we are planning to take at least 2 weeks to go out and stay with them. Our target date is somewhere around the end of August but if the baby comes early our time could be moved up. We will try and keep everyone posted as well as we can.
